Gender Equality and Inclusion Strategies for Economic Development

In this context, the Gender Community of Practice of the NESG proposes this Pre-Summit event titled "Gender Equality and Inclusion Strategies for Economic Development". The event will feature speakers from the public, private, development and non-governmental sectors. The event aims to: promote the mainstreaming of gender equality and inclusion into organisational framework and culture in Nigeria; critically examine and address policy issues on gender and inclusion across the public and private sectors; provide information on strategies, frameworks and training for gender equality and inclusion; and raise champions for gender equality and inclusion in Nigeria. The event will last for 2 hours. Speakers will focus on the laws, policies and practices of gender equality and inclusion at the national and sub-national levels, the private and public sector and interventions in bridging the gender gap and fostering gender parity.

The objectives of the event include the following:

▪ Results from this dialogue will feed into the Summit session on Gender.

▪ Promote the mainstreaming of gender equality and inclusion into organisational framework and culture in Nigeria.

▪ Critically examine and address policy issues on gender and inclusion across the public and private sectors.

▪ Provide information on strategies, frameworks and training for gender equality and inclusion.

▪ Raise champions for Gender equality and inclusion in Nigeria.
