NESG Economic Advisory Council Members Profile


The NESG National Faculty of Economists, comprising three distinct tiers to enhance our group's capacity in addressing the formidable challenges of our time. The Faculty of Economists will include an Advisory Council of 20 globally distinguished Nigerian economists, a Senior Faculty of 20 practicing economists across key sub-disciplines, and a Junior Faculty of 50 economic research fellows.

Advisory Council

Composition

• Minimum of 10 and a maximum of 20 distinguished economists across the spectrum of the discipline of economics.

• 80% Nigerian economists, 20% foreign economists with focus on African or Nigerian areas of research bodies of work.

Functions

• Provide broad-based guidance to the NESG Board and the Faculty on economic development philosophy, policy frameworks, and approaches impacting the NESG's mandate, mission, and vision.

• Annual retreat to evaluate, define, and recommend the NESG Research Agenda and measure its impact on the NESG Board

• The annual retreat of the National Advisory Council (NAC) will provide an opportunity for performance evaluation.
