The first leg of the tour kicked off on October 28, 2019 at the National College, Gbagada, Lagos and it had over 150 pupils in attendance. Mr. Yinka Iyinolakan, Head of Communication at the NESG reiterated the importance of civic education and financial/digital literacy to Nigeria’s economic growth. He told the students that they should inculcate the values of religious tolerance and honesty to help aid Nigeria’s development.

The second leg of the tour held at Eko Akete Secondary school, Lagos Island, Lagos on the 30th of October 2019. Ms. Folawe Omikunle; Chief Executive Officer, Teach-for-Nigeria and Thematic Lead, Basic Education, Human Capital Development Policy Commission of the NESG while addressing students of the school made it known that the NESG was encouraging financial literacy among Nigerians and is keen on the growth and development of Nigeria’s Education Sector. She encouraged the students to make friends across different tribes and ethnic groups and treat each other with love and respect to help build a successful Nigeria.

The tour continued on the 7th of November 2019 as Dr. Mojisola Olateru-Olagbegi; the Facilitator of the Science and Technology Policy Commission of the Nigerian Economic Summit Group (NESG) visited Victoria Island Secondary School, Victoria Island Lagos. She educated the students on the need to be united, the importance of justice, honesty, religious tolerance, co-operation, etc. as these are essential in bringing about peace in the nation.

The tour continued on the 8th of November 2019 with Mrs Wonu Adetayo; Board Member of the Nigerian Economic Summit Group (NESG) visiting Kuramo College, Victoria Island Lagos. She educated the students on how important they are in building the nation they desire, as well as the need to live in unity. She told the students that anyone, irrespective of his/her age, tribe and social status can bring positive change in a nation.
