Youth Engagement and Opportunities in the Presidential CNG Initiative

 The Nigerian Economic Summit Group’s Community of Practice on Youth (CoPY) recognizes the critical role of youth in shaping the future of Nigeria. However, a significant gap exists between youth and policymakers, hindering effective youth engagement in public policy.

The "NESG Youth Town Hall" discussion series is designed to bridge this gap by creating a platform for direct dialogue, fostering mutual understanding, and promoting youth-inclusive policymaking. 

Rationale and Importance

● Amplifying Youth Voices: The Town Hall will provide a space for youth to articulate their concerns, share their perspectives, and propose solutions to pressing national issues.

● Enhancing Policy Relevance: Direct engagement with youth will enable policymakers to gain firsthand insights into the challenges and aspirations of young Nigerians, leading to more relevant and effective policies.

● Building Trust and Accountability: The Town Hall will foster transparency and accountability by facilitating direct interaction between youth and policymakers, promoting trust and mutual respect.

● Promoting Civic Engagement: By actively engaging in policy discussions, youth will develop a stronger sense of civic responsibility and become more active participants in the democratic process.

● Mainstreaming Youth Perspectives: The town hall series will aid in the NESG Youth Community of practice goal of mainstreaming youth into public policy.
