Partnership to Accelerate Global Energy Transition (PACT) in Nigeria

The global shift towards clean energy is not just a climate imperative but also an economic opportunity, especially for energy-poor countries like Nigeria. Nigeria, endowed with vast natural resources and a dynamic youthful population, has set ambitious climate targets, including achieving net-zero emissions by 2060, as outlined in the Nigeria Energy Transition Plan (ETP). However, several bottlenecks, such as insufficient financing, policy and regulatory challenges, and limited collaboration between public and private sector actors, continue to hinder progress.

In response to these challenges, the NESG and GIZ are organizing a series of targeted stakeholder engagement meetings, developing the momentum from the previous webinar conducted on February 26th, 2025. These meetings aim to foster deeper, more targeted dialogues with major stakeholders in the oil and gas, transportation, energy, industrial, and clean cooking sectors. The overarching goal is to identify sector-specific challenges, promote collaboration, and propose tailor-made solutions to accelerate Nigeria's energy transition.
