The global theme for WED 2021 (Ecosystem Restoration) aligns with the Watershed Management objective of the CEO Water Mandate. The NESG, in collaboration with the UNGCN, and in commemoration of the WED, is organizing a one-day webinar themed: Private Sector Imperative for Sustainable Water Resources Management in Nigeria. The event seeks to galvanize all private sector actors and non-governmental organizations supporting private sector activities in the water resources and environmental management space in Nigeria. There will be opportunity for key actors to share their work in the mobilization of private sector for sustainable water resources and environment in Nigeria. And working groups among key actors will be established for collaborations and alliances.

Objectives

  • The main objective of the event is to highlight the activities of key actors in the private sector mobilization efforts towards the achievement of sustainable water resources management in Nigeria. Other objectives include;
  • To promote the opportunity for collaboration in the management of water resources in Nigeria through the UN Global Compact platform of the CEO Water Mandate.
  •  To share knowledge and experience with key private sector actors on water risk and resilience for business, and the value of collaboration for water resources management.
  • To establish a working group for collaboration and synergy towards the achievement of sustainable water resources management in Nigeria.
