On the 18th of March 2020, the Nigerian Economic Summit Group (NESG) led by our Chief Executive Officer, Mr. ‘Laoye Jaiyeola delivered a presentation to the Nigeria Governors Forum (NGF) on the NGF-NESG Economic Roundtable (NNER).
The NNER is a joint platform created by the NESG and the NGF to help facilitate public-private dialogues and develop joint programmes geared towards building competitive advantages of States across clusters, geographic corridors and economic belts. This roundtable is based on the Memorandum of Understanding that was signed between both institutions at the 23rd Nigerian Economic Summit in October 2017. The NNER is dedicated to promote sub-national competitiveness for regional development and to build State capabilities to develop unique set of institutions, policies and factors for improved productivity.
At the meeting, the chairman of the Nigeria Governors’ Forum (NGF) and the governor of Ekiti state, Dr. Kayode Fayemi and other Governors adopted a strategy to operationalise the NGF-NESG Economic Roundtable and committed to constitute a Steering Committee to provide governance to the partnership in the immediate future.
