Invitation to the Launch of the NESG 2025 Macroeconomic Outlook Report
On behalf of the Board and Management of the Nigerian Economic Summit Group (NESG), we are honored to invite you to the launch of our 2025 Macroeconomic Outlook Report, titled "Stabilisation in Transition: Rethinking Reform Strategies for 2025 and Beyond."
In mid-2023, Nigeria embarked on an ambitious reform agenda aimed at addressing longstanding structural challenges and fostering sustainable economic growth. While initial progress has been made, the nation now stands at a critical juncture. In 2025, the government’s primary focus will be on achieving economic stabilization, driven by public concerns over short-term economic performance and the urgent need to restore and sustain growth momentum.
This year's report is particularly timely, emphasizing the need for a strategic recalibration of Nigeria’s reform agenda. To overcome emerging challenges and maximize the potential of existing reforms, it is essential to reassess current strategies, address immediate needs, and mitigate unintended consequences arising from recent policy changes.
We are privileged to have distinguished speakers at the event, including the Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Mr. Olayemi Cardoso, who will deliver the keynote address, alongside Dr. Samer Matta, Senior Economist for Nigeria, World Bank Group, and Dr. Christian H. Ebeke, Nigeria Country Representative for the International Monetary Fund (IMF), among others.
