Ese Ikponmwonba, PMP, is a seasoned project and programme management professional with over 10 years of experience delivering complex, multi-stakeholder initiatives within policy, governance, and development environments. She currently serves as Lead, Programmes and Delivery Unit Manager at the Nigerian Economic Summit Group (NESG), where she plays a central role in translating strategy into execution and strengthening institutional delivery across the organisation.
At the NESG, Ese supports executive leadership in coordinating and delivering flagship national policy convenings, including high-level stakeholder dialogues that shape Nigeria’s economic and development agenda. She oversees programme planning, execution, and performance management across cross-cutting organisational priorities, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives, timelines, and impact goals. Her work spans programme governance, stakeholder coordination, risk management, and results tracking, contributing to effective delivery in complex policy and development contexts.
Ese holds a Master of Public Administration (MPA) from Northeastern University, where she developed strong expertise in public sector management, policy analysis, and institutional leadership. She also earned a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science and Public Relations from the University of Houston, providing a solid foundation in governance, communications, and stakeholder engagement.
She is a Project Management Professional (PMP), a globally recognised certification that underscores her expertise in structured project delivery and programme governance. In addition, Ese holds professional certifications in stakeholder management, financing for development, and global political economy, further strengthening her ability to manage complex development programmes involving public, private, and international partners.
Beyond her professional responsibilities, Ese is actively engaged in community development and social impact initiatives. She volunteers with charitable organisations focused on youth development, capacity building, and support for underserved populations, reflecting her commitment to inclusive development and sustainable social outcomes.
