The Sustainability Policy Commission works to ensure balance of resource use and consumption. Sustainability-driven elements cover environmental costs and ensure inclusiveness into economic growth. This means that sustainability approaches embrace social aspects such as inclusive growth (social and financial access), bridging inequality gaps and governance (transparency, accountability and monitoring). These are factors that determine the policy commission’s involvement in various aspects of its work.

Environmental Sustainability

Aims to promote sustainable balance in the clean (gas) and renewable energy space, access/availability, jobs/GDP growth, while maintaining low carbon growth. It consists of five sub-groups which include – Energy Efficiency; Waste Management, Consumption & Use; Clean Energy; Carbon Sinks and Green Belts, and Monitoring & Networking.

Corporate Sustainability

Helps corporate organizations to adopt/mainstream international best practices on environmental sustainability directly into their operations to lower carbon footprint, improve efficiency, save costs and create jobs. It consists of four sub-groups which include – Banking, Oil & Gas, Communications and Manufacturing.

NESG-HBF Nigeria Energy Alliance

The NESG-HBF Nigeria Energy Alliance is a platform that follows the implementation of Nigeria’s energy mix vision (E-vision 30:30:30).

Policy Reviews, Research and Development

This thematic group aims to review the policies and regulatory frameworks, translating international best practice guidelines and interpretations. It also includes building knowledge transfer platforms for innovative ideas and concepts.
